We participated in the OSCOM conference in Berkeley last
year. It was decided that browser(client)-server interoperability
was more relevant/attainable than server-server
interoperability.

The discussions concerned things like:

  o WebDAV support
  o WebDAV property standardization
  o DeltaV (RFC 3253) support
o standards-based in situ editing support
  o standardized content schemas

Given the competitive nature of the CMS server space I would
be surprised to see a lot of server-server interoperability
in the near future.

Rob
