Thanks for the info. I should have been clearer about what we are trying to do.
We want to be able to view pipeserver (servers running PipeServ) console output in real time, using VM:Operator. I tried SET SECUSER xxx, which routed all output to the xxx, but it also kept the pipeserver from responding to requests. Thanks in advance. - Hobart -----Original Message----- From: CMSTSO Pipelines Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rod Sent: Friday, November 07, 2008 5:40 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CMS-PIPELINES] SCIF and PipeServ On 11/6/08, SPITZ, HOBART CTR DFAS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Does anybody know if the Single Image Console Facility > (http://www.vm.ibm.com/download/packages/descript.cgi?SCIF) can be made > to work with PipeServ? > > Has anybody done so? If so, could you post an outline or an example? In-built SCIF and the SCIF pkg are 2 different things (which you'll know). So which one are you really interested in? I'm out of practise so this may be wrong and/or out of date but in the SCIF pkg description is says it uses WAKEUP. This will be used to make the connection to the *msg service. Since PIPESERV will use starmsg to trap the incoming IUCV msgs and, if I remember rightly, you can only have one of these (unless it's changed), then... On the other hand, if you want to use the inbuilt SCIF stuff and not really the pkg, then PIPESERV should handle it ok. -- Rod
