"unless you specify KEEP" -- or RANGE. RANGE implies KEEP. But more importantly, RANGE appears to search for an exact match of that character on the whole range (acting as PICK), rather than anywhere in the range (acting as LOCATE). Behavior of that documentation if what I did not find. And that behavior is what I questioned, asking if it might be more powerful without losing any function, by letting it function as LOCATE rather than PICK. The current function can be maintained by specifying a more narrow range. The expanded function can be enjoyed with a larger range.
