I cleaned up index.html, notably to document that 1.1.12/000C was
uploaded a year a go; uploaded a later version of a couple of pdfs;
updated the C cross compile stuff; and added a list of known bugs since
one of them is rather spectacular.

The cross compile stuff has moved to GitHub; you'll find pointers at the
end of the home page. Pipeline filters written in C now live in a
filter package using program descriptors and there is even a REXX
utility that will spare you building the descriptors by hand. A sample
filter package that contains INFLATE and DEFLATE (zlib) is included.

The upshot is that such a filter package is compatible with just about
any pipeline module in existence.

Further (or parallel, perhaps), if anyone has succeeded in building a
filter with IBM metal C, I would very much like to know. I conjecture
that it is possible; I also conjecture that you must run z/CMS to get
the Metal C compiler to execute.

'njoy   j.
