Here's a very simple pipe to get the output.

vmcmd = "VMSECURE CAN"

"PIPE", 
   "  var vmcmd",
   "| command",
   "| stem output."

cmdrc = rc
Say "Here is the command response from" vmcmd":" 
"PIPE",
   "  stem output.",
   "| cons"

Say vmcmd "ended with RC" cmdrc
exit  /* or exit cmdrc */
-----------------------------------

But I may not be understanding what you are trying to do.
