Hi folks,
Only 5 of us so far but that should grow over the next 24 hours as some of
those that said yes haven't joined yet (and are probably asleep on the other
side of the world).
I have also subscribed mail-archive.com so that everything is archived there
as well as in the normal WSG archive.
This message is just to get the mail-archive subscription working and let you
know that there are people here.
As stated elsewhere, this list can be pretty open as it's not so much about
standards. It can be used for advice on commercial and open source systems,
concepts and methodologies in building your own PHP, ColdFusion, ASP...
systems.
Personally, I don't believe any out-of-the-box system (from those that I have
tested) works any better than building what you need. But I have a base set of
(ColdFusion MX) code that I modify and redeploy as required and employ the
eWebEditPro editor where rich content is needed.
I host about 6 of these on the same Win 2000 server without any issues.
I would like to start up the topic of content mark-up at some stage. Whether
to store marked up HTML for content or to stick to all plain text or a
combination of plain text with "monikas" like {something} for adding italics
etc. on output. Or XML?
Anyway, away you go!
Regards,
Peter
