okay you missunderstood this here ;) it's *not* entwined - but it just brings a lot of features and optimizations out of the box. (the stuff i've mentioned) there are also people that are writing completly new skins (like tonico strasser, which is also from this list). but as i said, you're throwing away 50% of plone if you do that ;)
another thing, i've forgot to add is, you have to come with a big skin to do what we're trying to do: visual and invisible (markup) integration of "plugins" (they're called 'products' in the zope world). we're not only spending time doing plone, we're also working on apps so you don't have to rewrite everything, to make it fit your needs.
