When creating a DW template you create an editable area within the template
for content. This is standard for DW templates. Contribute users only
have access with the template or template-created pages within that
editable area. The combined DW/Contribute CMS system works very well. We
don't use Contribute 3 with advanced features because we don't have the
funds to purchase the server software that makes DW/C3 CMS work. So we
only use DW/C2 CMS.

Oh. I've skipped through the docs but I only caught that Server Side Contribute requires J2EE, but I only noticed the client side license fees. I'd better look again.

Does C2 not require server side apps? Does it do the job okay?

Of course, our agency is moving to a totally different CMS program that's
gonna cost the taxpayers a gazillion dollars to maintain, even though the
DW/C3 CMS approach is just as effective, if not more so, and costs very
little. Go figure!

I've never been able to figure out some of the strategy planning and decisions in large orgs.
