Declaration of > personal interest: I am the Alpha maintainer for it ;-) FWIW, I tend to agree with this assessment, i.e. for Alpha/Linux, which AFAIK we don't currently support in any form, besides the tarball in binaries, I'd really go with SBCL, unless you can bribe one of us into maintaining Alpha/Linux ;).
