Hmmm, I think you're trying too hard.  I've got an older Powerbook, 
and it's just fine for running java and lisp at the same time, as the 
poster asked.  A multi-processor laptop would be keen, true, but 
given the current processor straits Apple is in, as soon as Steve can 
make it work, he will.
