Maybe you could change the blocks to make it work easier...could you use a
double fiddle head block on the boom and a double fiddle head block with
cam cleat on the traveler instead of the setup you have now...while it is
nice to have the traveler and main sheet out of the cockpit there is a
price to pay for that convenience...it is hard to make adjustments from the
helm and the attachment at the boom is at mid boom rather than farther aft.
The owner of AZURA who also contributes here might send you a photo of how
we altered the main sheet arrangement on his 32 and he may also comment on
how useful the changes have been...personally I like the changes we made on
his boat which I believe give him a better capability to control his
mainsail while sailing single handed
