I am buying a C&C 26 and the original motor is gone and a outboard is on
there now. My wife is a sailor and hates outboards and I am interested in
putting a inboard in on a budget. Are rebuilt vire 7 engines available? Are
they a good engine or should I look for a Yanmar diesel? Another question I
have is we sail in the shipping lanes in the Hudson and if the motor quits I
have to be able to get out of the way. Has anyone used a electric trolling
type motor as a back up? I don't need to go fast just move. Thanks Bill
