In my case the keel was letting water into the boat. We were getting
about a half gallon a day and water would leak out when we were hauled for the
season. I talked to a former owner who said it always leaked a little from the
back of the keel (10 years ago) so I knew it was time to bite the bullet and
fix it correctly.
