While winterizing my boat,35 MKIII, I noticed that the threaded elbow fitting
on the bottom of my white plastic holding(waste)tank was loose and dripping
slightly. When the fitting wouldn’t tighten up,I found the threads on the elbow
and in the tank looking tired.( stripped)I plan on trying a new fitting, but
intend on applying an adhesive/sealant to the threads when installing. My first
instinct is to mix up west epoxy with colloidal silica and make a permanent
connection of it. ...But then remembered some of that white plastic can be very
slippery, when it comes to epoxy adhering to it. I am now contemplating 3m 4200
or even 5200 caulking instead. Anyone on the list have some advice on this?
This is a job I only want to do once if you know what I mean.

Thanks
Larry
