I might try that first.  I have an old laptop with a camera.  Aim it into the 
bilge with a ruler in the bilge so I can see if the pump is working.  Its not 
as good as an alarm, but its better than not having anything.

Sooner or later I will add a bilge alarm to this setup and maybe shorepower 
voltage.
I have a couple of these cameras at home as so far it is a major PITA trying to 
get them through the local ISP so I can see them from outside my home LAN. You 
would need to arrange port forwarding with the marina more than likely. What I 
do now is FTP every 5 minutes or so.

Joel,

Unless you're watching, it won't help.  There are wireless bilge and boat 
systems monitors available.  They will alert you when a problem is observed.  
Do some research to see if one satisfies your needs.
