Loved my Beta re-power in my Bristol 30 Great support and simple design.
EASY to maintain with oil pump etc.

Gord -- no direct experience with re-powering a 33; but my former sailing
instructor re-powered his Westsail 32 with a BetaMarine engine, and loves it.
He could easily remote the oil filter for ease in changing it, and he got the
oil change pump option, as well. He said the price was several thousand less
than going with a Yanmar; and he gets parts at Kubota tractor shops.

the condition of the Yanmar 2GM20f in my 1986 33 Mk II has reached the point
where I am looking at repowering in the near future. I've run out of
band-aids! Was wondering what experience others might have had repowering a 33
Mk II? The Yanmar 3YM 20 is the logical replacement choice but comes at a
20-25% price premium over other brands of comparable horsepower e.g Beta. The
tight space in the engine compartment is a major challenge but nothing that $$$
can't solve within reason. Any advice or experience from other 33 Mk II owners
would be much appreciated. Thanks Gord Tidmarsh
