If you go to the Yanmar website you can download spec sheets and installation drawings for the 2 cylinder and 3 cylinder engines. That will tell you things like the length, width, height, height of the output shaft of the transmission, spacing of the motor mounts, etc. You should be able to figure out if the 3 cylinder engine will fit your existing engine beds and fit into the engine compartments without significant rework.
