Joe,

I started doing what we informally referred to as the “Corsica River Race” as
crew back in the mid-70’s and continued on until the mid-90’s on my boat. Loved
that race and loved racing up and back down the Chester River even with the
regular-as-rain light air. Unfortunately I “vaguely” remember the parties. I’m
fairly certain they were fun…

After selling my Cal 25 I sailed my new-to-me C&C up and was the mother hen
ship for the Cal raft-up for a couple of the races.

As far as your understanding of the loaner boat goes I think that is true. My
buddy Charlie has 2 Cal 25’s and a Cal 40 (we like to say that he has 90’ of
Cal) and I think that he has offered the use of one of them. I know I used one
for a Frostbite season while mine was out of commission on year. I suspect that
he may well still do that. The fleet is very encouraging with potential new
members.
