Sorry to hear your Harbor Freight lights didn't hold up. Mine came from there 
and are working fine after two seasons. For the price, they might be worth 
replacing every few years. Mine have a switchable light sensor and motion 
sensor. That's a lot of technology for $5, though I have mine on button only. 

I'm was thinking of running a 12V circuit through the boat for night time and 
wire it to strategically placed red LED lights to light the ladder, the head, 
the cabin floor, all out of sight of a sleeping crew. Guess I need one in the 
ice box and one over the galley area, too. I bet there are battery powered LEDs 
use by bicycle riders that work just fine? Have to google that.

I installed the puck lights from Harbor Freight. They only cost fourteen 
dollars for a package of three. In less than a year, several of them failed. 
They produce enough light, but I don't recommend them because of their 
reliability.
