27-3 used to be $23000 just a few years ago as a standard asking price

Weird.

My take is you list the boat for the high side of a reasonable price and
continue to sail and enjoy it. If someone wants to make a reasonable
offer then sell it - otehrwise enjoy your boat and do not worry.

The worst is when an owner neglects a boat by never upgrading anything
for 20 years or more. What else would be wrong with such a boat?

I am on the other side of this question, with a C&C 27 Mark III that I
need
to sell as I am moving; and I won't be near any decent sized lakes.
I'll
probably get a small sailboat that I can trailer and launch by myself;
but
the 27 needs to go this year...

I have looked at the pricing question and as you said, prices are all
over.
I've had "offers" on my boat, but did not feel like pursuing a lowball
offer
that came with strings attached. I'd hope to get $9,000 but expect to
sell
for less; that on a boat that has good sails, a solid deck, solid rig
and
comes with a trailer. I sail all over lake Michigan on her and have
done
the Solo Mac (Chicago to Mackinac island solo) multiple times. I am
sure
you can find 27s cheaper; as others have said it depends on what you
need to
address when you get the boat and your tolerance for imperfection. All
older boats will have some "quirks"; the question is do those "quirks"
bother you and if so what will it cost to correct them...

We're looking at buying a C&C 27 Mark III, and, as when we bought our
C&C
24, the values vary considerably; some boats in very good condition
seeming
to be priced lower than others not so good. Does anyone know what we
should
pay?

Buy the one that is already updated and needs nothing. Even if the
purchase
price is more, it will be less expensive in the long run than doing the
upgrades yourself.
