In the cold PNW waters I typically get 18 to 24 months of performance out of 2 to 3 heavy coats of zinc paint. When I do haul and repaint the prop I sand most of the old paint off, but I do not get carried away with old paint removal. The zinc paint wears off by prop motion and by acting as a sacrificial zinc. The blades are mostly clean in 24 months. The MAX prop housing is still well covered. Congrats on the new C&C. It did not adhere well. I switched to Pettit zinc paint as well and had better results. Martin- Do you remove the old zinc paint each year or rough the residual and add another coat?
