A close match will always look like a repair. My tip, is that when you can't get an exact match, use contrast instead. That doesn't mean extreme opposite, it just means use a color that doesn't look like a failed attempt at a match. Maybe a very light gray. For the cockpit sole, I would probably also investigate some of the various materials that could be applied over the surface, such as plasdeck, or those interlocking rubber mats which are removable.
