I am a new member and I found a great 33. I will be going thru the buying process with an individual owner not a dealer. Since some of the members have gone through the process recently I would love to hear from their experience . What I have found on the Internet and from personal experience is to have: (1) a certified boat surveyor (2) download a bill of sale from transport Canada (3) somehow find out if any lien on boat ! (4) to show interest that I am a serious buyer (before surveyor) do I give a small deposit ? (5) after giving the full $ amount.. Do we then federally register the boat or transfer! No PST Any suggestions would be appreciated.
