I am breaking down a Barient 28 for lubing and want to verify what I am seeing.
After removing drum et al I unscrewed the 4 large allen bolts holding down the
center spline and gears to the base.
And there it still sits.
It seems as though the base attached to the boat and the center spline have
fused where the bolts are inserted. What I want to clarify is that there are
no additional hidden bolts. In addition what are the best practices of freeing
up the spline from the base (aside from the usuals: PB Blaster, targeted whacks
with hammer and screw-driver etc).
