I would suggest not using the asym spinnaker and run in the non-spinnaker class
(if they have one). Unless you have a lot of reaching leg areas in your racing
venue, the asym without a pole or sprit is not going to do you a lot of good.
Likewise your largest genoa. Stick with the 155, assuming your region allows
that without penalty, which most do.

The spread of PHRF numbers is usually due to modifications to the 'racing'
specs, such as a fixed prop or roller furler or (in some areas) additions or
decreases due to sail specifications. Some regions give you credit for a
smaller than 155% headsail, some add for a longer than J spinnaker pole, etc.

Your boat appears to be pretty stock, which will put it at 174 in most regions.
Around here (and in most other areas), 'racing' condition assumes a good
bottom, good sails, no roller furler, yes folding prop. which is what you have.

And, I don't know the last one built - yours is the highest number I've seen.

Mine has a 2 blade folding mertec prop, All hank on head sails. I do fly a
pole-less asymmetrical cursing spinnaker. Maybe the different in in the raised
boom in the early models. You mentioned mine was one of the last ones built?
you don't know the last number do ya? just wondering.

I have always wondered about that as well. The 1-506 version is what we
have - the earliest ones had the boom a foot lower than ours, but they modified
that after the first ones were built - too many headaches. I don't know why the
listings cut off at 506, because I have 593 and you are at 675, which is one of
the last ones built. The Chesapeake rates mine at 174 - no fixed prop, no
roller furling, both of which would change it + 3 seconds for a fixed prop, 6
for an above deck furler.

      C&C 30 168 185 174
      C&C 30 (1-506) 171 174 171
      C&C 30 SD 172 184 177

      I have a 1981 C&C 30MK 1
Not sure the difference of the described above, Well I do know that the
last one is the Sheol draft version. but not sure the (1-501) is that the HIN #
mine is 675?

I may ease into the local Frost-bite series in February to end on
Saturday march the 15th.May be a good way to meet some other sailors. and learn
some stuff.

      Thanks for your help.

      Cheers, Curt
