My boat came with a riser made of non-galvanized pipe, it lasted about 18 years with me and I don't know how many more with the PO's. I replaced it with another.

Well, five years later (last week), Ox's exhaust riser collapsed. FWIW, most of the disintegration was toward the exhaust manifold.
