Well yea!! But getting to really feel her is wonderful. People can
tell me all day how she sails in heavy wind, but it's a lot funnier
finding some wind. I just wish I lived where there was wind all the
time. I will say one thing I did learn. It's a lot more work. I had
things falling in the cabin. The head was taking on water. I could
not just "ease" into a tack. We had to plan it and execute it. I had
to watch out for the accidental jibe. I never had to worry about that
before. Just a great time! I can't wait to get back at it. I bet I'm
driving my wife nutz!! HAHAhA . I was going to try this weekend for an
offshore. But the last winter storm moving across the country will be
here on Thursday bringing 34 lows and 50 highs with soggy rain. Not
much fun in that kind of sailing. I need to be patience and take it
slow.
The good news I got my new Standard Horizon GX2200 hooked and the DSC
number put in. I need to hook it to the GPS yet! But the radio works
great. I got the speed traducer put in. This weekend if the weather is
bad I will install the sonar traducer for the new Garmin ECHO 50s.
Life is good today. Life is good.

Thanks so much for all the guys on this site for all the help. I don't
know what I would have done without some of the advice that I have
received. You guys are the best.
Cheers,
Curtis.

you learn how to handle her

This Boat is new to me "well" this is the start of my 3rd season. I
was out Sunday with 11 to 17 knots out of the west and all I can say
is Wow!! this C&C will fly, and the faster the wind the better she
handles. I have a great respect for this boat, now. Were I live,
"Hilton Head South Carolina", we usely have light winds "3 to 5 knots'
out of the south. This last weekend the winds were stright abeam from
the west and in the mid to upper teens. Just a little adjusting on the
traveler and she sailed right in a slot at 7 to 10° heel. I almost was
able to turn lose. We just had her put back in the water last week of
Friday. So, needless to say she was very clean on the bottom and
slipped thru the water like a knife.
I was going to go offshore last week for the first time buy my
self, but the weather was too crappy for that. and the boat yard was
not done with the chors It cost a lot of money. I had to replace the
thru-hull poop out valve. and replaced one backing plate. had all of
them lubebercated. I had the standard 2 coat bottom paint.
Wow what a great boat. The C&C 30 MK1 is a fine boat..

Thanks
Curtis.
