Hi Chuck et al.- I have the M4-30. This is the first time I have had the water pump apart so I have no idea when the impeller was last removed. I will certainly keep it out for future winters, but I need to get it off to start the process. I actually bought a new one that can run dry for some time, so that should take care of the periodic starts with the intake closed. I will have a try at the wiggle/twist and pull with the pliers, but I suspect it is not going to come that way and I am worried about Dwight’s comment. I will see if the yard will loan me a puller for this time. I don’t want to spend $50-100 on a puller which should be needed only this time when I am not convinced any of them will grab my impeller.
