The water here rarely gets above 45F, a little chilly for diving unless you have a dry suit etc.
I'll see if I can find a diver that will do it for a reasonable amount.
Cheers,
Paul

Here in Beaufort South Carolina we have to clean the bottom every three to 4 weeks otherwise it fouls the bottom. If you hold for 5 weeks here you will start getting hard growth. Do like I did and learn to do it your self. You can save a lot of cash and know the job is done right. My C&C30 MK1 can be done by free diving. No scuba tanks needed. However it makes it easier so I do use the scuba method
.
You will need to keep the bottom clean to reach the correct hull speed and correct RPM's for your Yanmar. I have the Yanmar 2GM20F in my Boat. If I let the bottom go past time to clean the bottom go very long The Engine will show it .When you go to the boat and warm up the engine, Look at your rudder see if it has a film or a light carpet on it. If so you are right on time for a cleaning. One other thing some folks forget is to keep a clean air filter in the boat. If the engine cant breath she will blow black smoke.

    Dwight,

This was my thought, as well.

It is colder out here, but at least I don't need to clean the
bottom more often than once a year at haul out.

No cleaning for month...wow, glad I don't get that fun job once a
month...do you use an anti fouling paint or dry sail Midnight
Mistress...don't any anti fouling paints work better than
    that where you sail

    Paul,

Any significant growth on the hull/prop will slow the boat. I can
    lose two
knots of boatspeed with a dirty bottom (i.e. no cleaning for a month).
There have been times I could barely make four knots and it was
    blowing
black smoke into the water. A clean bottom is essential to efficient
    sailing.

    Subject: Stus-List Prop size/pitch for a Yanmar 1GM10 in a 27 MkII

    Hi Folks,
Any 27MkII folks out there with a Yanmar 1GM10 diesel? What prop
    do you
have on there, and is it able to achieve max rpm under load? I
    can't recall
    what I have (3 blade but don't know size/pitch) but at 2700rpm I am
billowing black smoke and still only doing 5kts. Dirty bottom is
    going to
contribute to this, plus some junk on the prop itself, but I
    wouldn't have
thought it would be *that* big an effect.
    Cheers,
    Paul
