I agree with either Lifeseal or Butyl. I used to use Lifeseal all the time, but 
now use butyl more often.  One tidbit I found recently is that you can buy both 
black and white butyl.  I used to shy away from butyl for deck things because I 
didn’t want the black runoff that sometimes occurs with black on deck/hull 
joints.  Since discovering white butyl, I use it much more.  Dave
