Hi Ryan,

Do you have a split backstay? That will force a hole or a slit in the
bimini to make it work. I can't tell from your pic - nice looking boat by
the way. I also have a 30MK1 and am looking for a good bimini solution that
won't get in the way while racing but provides some protection from the
broiling sun. I will be watching this space to see what turns up.
Hopefully we can get some pics of working biminis on MK1s.

Cheers,

Subject: Stus-List Bimini top for a 30mki

Hey everyone,

My spray dodger/gerry-rigged bimini top has seen better days.

I'm thinking about losing the spray dodger to increase visibility, but
keeping it in storage for when I go in open water - and just buying a nice
bimini top and frame for cruising around.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a bimini system for a 1976 30mki?
It's a tiller boat and the main traveler is at the back of the cockpit.

Also, I think a black bimini would look great. Is the color black a bad
idea bc of heat? I see so many dark navy tops... Dark navy can't be that
much cooler than black. I would also buy a black sail cover.

This is a shot of the boat:

Any advice is appreciated.

Ryan
