I am toying with the idea of chartering a 40+ foot mono or cat around memorial Day and the following week in the Southern Bay- the further south the better for traveling from NC or GA. Need room for ~ 4 adults and 4 kids (10-14) but we would not stay on board all week. Any recommendations from those who sail there regularly? I have found Norton's in Deltaville on the web. Since not everyone in our family sails, we would rent a house near the charter or other dock and do a day sail to a fun place, dock or anchor for one night and then return to our base. Maybe do this twice during the charter week and just day sail back and forth to our base on the other days or do a combination of all of the above.
Suggestions for where to charter a big (for me) 40+ ft. mono or cat and where to base it would be welcome from the 'locals' on this list and anyone else for that matter. We are not thinking of Annapolis because of the driving distance from NC and GA( unless we can't find something closer to Norfolk).
