Hi Pete, I got the estimate on a complete overhaul of my rigging, standing and running last week from, I suspect, the same rigger. Breathtaking is one way of describing it…
Anyway, you may be able to just re-head the existing rod which we did back in 2000. But I suspect that your rigger will take Navtec’s recommendations and suggest completely replacing the rod. We talked about a non-rod conversion but I nixed that route. I have money “invested” in the newer K200 tang fittings. Which required a large cutout in the mast. Those are pretty much the only things that will remain. For me it means new rod and toggles. If you have the older K150 fittings with the stainless caps and aluminum rod you’ll need to replace those. Covering the mast hole should be relatively simple. I’ve always just put something in to support some plastic and taped it on the edges. Buying a $7,500 shed to put over it is another way to go. ;-) Best, Dave Godwin 1982 C&C 37 - Ronin Reedville - Chesapeake Bay Ronin’s Overdue Refit <http://roninrebuild.blogspot.com/> > On Dec 8, 2016, at 10:56 AM, kelly petew via CnC-List <[email protected]> > wrote: > > Hello Listers, > > My 30-2 is 25+ years young.
