One more thing to check – water pump impeller.

If this list does not help you with engine manual, you might try the SBO
(Sailboat Owners forum). It has much wider reach, though not as good advice
(;-).

Subject: Stus-List Yanmar 3JH2E Engine Questions

Hello all,

The engine in our 37/40+ is a Yanmar 3JH2E. Anyone know where I can download a
full repair manual? Ideally, I'd like to find one free, as I know there is a
full manual on board, but I want to begin reading everything I can before I
take possession.

In talking with the surveyor, he indicated that these engines are pretty good
about not needing the fuel system to be bled after changing out the racor
filter if I fill the bowl with fuel when reassembling it. Can anyone here
verify that? I'm new to diesels, though I had a 1977 27MKIII for 16 years with
an Atomic 4, and am very comfortable with doing work on my boat(s), so I'm
guessing I can learn what I need to.

The boat's been basically sitting for the last 5 years, with the last oil
change having been done in 2011, and it only having 30 or less hours on the
engine since then.

Before we leave the dock I want to change the oil & filter, change the racor
filter and engine fuel filter, change the transmission fluid, and change the
coolant. Beyond that we will clear all the strainers. I'm guessing that I'm
not thinking of something (solely related to the engine at this point).
Anything else I should do?
