I took a video of some mods that you might be interested in. Particularly
around the 2 minute mark I show some racor mods which will make bleeding
and filter changes super easy.

I touch on the bleeding process on my 3HM35F in the next video. I usually
have very little need to bleed anywhere except for the racor but if I do, I
avoid at all cost operating the bleed screws. I crack the banjo fittings
instead. The bleed screws have a bad habit of leaking and getting stripped
easily. The copper washers in the banjo fittings MAY weep if not replaced
but at least it will stay put. On multiple occasions I have found myself
scrambling to find bleed screws which had "blown out".

If you are considering polishing the fuel yourself I suggest getting a
cheap 12v fuel pump. I found one on ebay for ~$10. You can install the
pump on the inlet side of the racor and then remove the fuel return line
from the injectors and attach it to the outlet of the racor. This creates
a recirc flow path. At ~20 gph you would be well served to leave the pump
running for at least 2 hours. 10 hours would give a lot of confidence for
a delivery trip. I would also suggest rocking the boat as much as to can
during the recirc.
