Okay Danny, I’ll bite…   :^)

In pretty much all cases, the EV100 pilot will out-perform the ST4000.  There’s 
very little difference in the drive, although the newer drive has a bit more 
power; but the ACU100 course computer and EV1 heading sensor are far more 
capable and sophisticated than the older electronics in the ST4000.  And as 
others have mentioned, there’s the issue of interfacing with newer NMEA2000 
electronics.

I use my pilot a lot, as I mostly single-hand the boat (even with others 
aboard…).  So if it were my choice, I’d go for the newer pilot.  About the time 
you replace the head on the old one, something else would fail…
