I have been doing that for years. I found the back splice easier to do than the 
splice where the anchor line continues along the chain weaving in and out, that 
one is a bit more effort.

link connecting the rode shackle to the line. The shackle is stainless. The

If it is I can put a galvanized shackle, but where the chain attached too the 
anchor is a stainless mantus swivel, so the issue would be the same.
What do I do besides all stainless chain? If that is possible.
