Finesse is a great boat. Doug owned a C&C 39 for years before that (also Finesse). We were all amazed when he returned his original 39 to Niagara-on-the-Lake and had a replacement deck installed.
Rich Loesel was a great sailor and another very tough competitor against our Cal 33 back in the day. He owned his 33-1 from sometime in the 70s (new at the time) until he died last year. Airborne remains in our club and still looks great. Bill, who is lurking on this list, recently “upgraded” to a non-C&C. Shameful. His 70s-vintage 39, which I believe was the Devshire (also in Erie since new), is sitting on the hard. Pity.
