Dennis,
I think your problem is accelerated by UV degradation. Delrin isn't all
that good in UV exposure. I would suggest using bearing grade PEEK but
that is a lot of overkill. You may gain some advantage by making a
sunbrella cover for it (or just replace it every 7 years).
I never ended up replacing the one in Corsair. It just needed a little
McLube every now and then so that it didn't squeak.
