My 7'6" keel is an issue maybe 2% of my cruising time. So I can't go into a couple of harbors in New England...so what. The draft is well worth the freight-train upwind performance when I want and/or need it.
Thank you Rob. 1981 40-2 (no uptick needed. Thank you very much) -----Original Message----- From: CnC-List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Rob Ball via CnC-List Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2020 2:27 PM To: [email protected] Cc: Rob Ball <[email protected]> Subject: Stus-List Northeast 39 The project was a limited run boat from the Custom Shop - built by Bruckmann. Not intended as a comfy cruising boat obviously . . . The market was intended for Long Island Sound and try to come up with something to appeal to C&C 40 owners looking for something uptick . . . . Clearly much more carefully built, and one could add skylights now, but to get reasonable draft obviously a keel job is in order . . . . But it's always a shame to remove the engine from a Ferrari and put in a Chevy replacement . . .
