I have to agree with David....my Group 24 deep cycle batteries have never left the boat since I bought them in 2009...check the electrolyte specific gravity and fluid levels in the Fall during layup....give them a full charge, disconnect all the terminals and they stay on board all winter....the lower temperature the slower the discharge rate and if your specific gravity level is O.K., they will not fereeze.....Spring, they are 12.4 to 12.5awaiting a full charge...why would you take them home?

And if you visit your boat over the off season, give them a short boost but no real need.

As for solar panels in the winter....no experience so no advice....but why have them out in the weather when there is no real need unless you are running something off your batteries in the off season?
