Was the 22 degree pitch on the Max Prop recommended by the distributor? I too have faith in Fred Hutchinson’s calculations. He’s always been spot on. If someone didn’t work out that 22 degree pitch based on prop and reduction I’d suggest it’s overpitched (as one could easily guess).

Coincidence is powered by a 3GM30F Yanmar with a 1 1/8 shaft and a Kanzaki, KM3P Mechanical gearbox. Serial no(s): 17745. Gear ratio: 2.61:1 I recently purchased a 2 Blade 17 inch Max Prop. It comes with a 22 degree pitch. When I was communicating with PYI they had recommended a 2 Blade 17 inch 20 degree pitch if I went with their new propeller. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience regarding 22 degree pitch vs 20 degree?
