I race every Sunday - October to March. I winterized all systems except the
engine. With a heater on board, I watch the temperature forecast. If it
gets colder than thirty degrees, I run RV antifreeze through the heat
exchanger. Many years ago with a previous boat, I relied on the heater. On
an especially cold night, the marina lost power. The engine froze and the
block cracked. A lot more expensive than a gallon of RV antifreeze.
