Thanks Bill,  As you may know, the Selden kit is fastened to the deck by 
padeyes.  Based on your comment, I might position an additional padeye for the 
sprit so it sticks out 12% J (21" for my boat) just for racing, and another to 
have the pole extend to maximum unsupported length which should be close to 5 
feet.  I can use the short length for a Code Zero, but I don't think the boat 
really needs one.  I'm rigging an amsteel bobstay for the max extension.  But 
I'll check local PHRF for their rules.
