I have a C&C 36-1. There are stainless strap assemblies bolted through the main bulkhead port and starboard. These are welded to stainless pads bolted through the deck. I have removed the mounting bolts and the holes in the bulkhead are not elongated yet there is a gap of about 5/16" under the plate on the deck above. What is this for? I am guessing a deck hold--down, yet the deck appears to be firmly in contact with the bulkhead below. Has anyone else seen this? What have you done about it?
