I discovered from older pictures that my 39 had the cowl vents removed during races, I assumed because of sheets catching on them. I didn’t put them back in, and discovered that they had become cup (beer) holders. So I put some tan starboard over them, with a hole where the cowl was, and SS baskets to hold the cans. I put little $10 computer muffin fans over the holes on the other side of the baffle, and snaked 12V to it. You can turn it off and on, but I just left it running, as it took so little power.

Jib sheet caught one and tossed it in the drink yesterday, motivating me to upgrade to a low profile vent that will fit the 7” space. Nicro and Marinco make a nice mini solar vent that will fit, but I think these are designed for direct thru-deck application, not a dorade box. What solutions have you folks found for a low profile vent?
