Just sold my 1982 37. Draft 5.5!
I am thinking the value of all in all system working could-should be around
$34K-$39K depending on condition. I HAD to sell as I am moving, 5+ hours from
boat so sadly I let her go "AS IS” no survey, no inspection just a $ check!
for $30K Its amazing what people expect for $30K New engine new rigging… crazy
Tell them its $30K not $300K! and now everyone ( including me) wants the new
walk thru transom 2 wheels electric heads, furling main .. … which I know if
C&C were still building would be exactly just that !! Good news is guy who
grabbed it is thrilled, and will handle whatever needs to be done and keep her
sailing for many years!
This Boat sailed great!! It will be very hard to replace sailing abilities. I
single handed her 90% of the time with no issues, and I will miss her dearly :(
.
I am looking for a 2 cabin boat now and in no hurry as I feel prices may be
stabilizing a little bit

Boat Needs = all systems including A/C working fine!!
engine sooner than later
Sails 2017?
spreader tips, for sure!
Standing rigging all need replacement
Few moist spots topside
Good polish and wax
C&C Smile repair
Bottom paint been 2+ years

Best of luck with your sale!!

6.5 feet. i used to sail a star out of Oxford MD so i understand how limiting
a full keel can be. most of the boats life has been in lake ontario and off of
CT and RI so the deeper keel has value.

Draft? That is a deciding factor for many of us.

Every few months I ask my wife if we should sell our beloved 1982 C&C 37. And
being the practical spouse, she says yes. The last time we sailed her was
returning from the Block Island rendezvous many years ago. A few of you may
remember the rendezvous’ final day as being a sensational sail. A few miles
from Stonington our home port we blew out the mainsail. I replaced with a UK
with the mast sliders, but havent sailed since.
We have the luxury of owning a large boathouse in florida so we have parked her
there the last few years. We find our age limits our boating to taking our
legacy 40 to stonington each spring and returning in fall.
Thanks for allowing me to speak a little of my 49 years of owning five C&Cs. I
have no idea of the financial value of this boat. Possibly you can give me
guidance. When buying the boat I installed a Beta (kubota) engine. Has a couple
hundred hours on it. While a little reluctant, I am prepared to sell her.
