Nathan; I have a cable also...; it is the typical setup... the cable exits
through a sheave on the top of the cabin and the steel cable converts to a rope
line on a winch at the aft end of the cabin top.interestingly, we just a
situation where the water in our marina became so low that we were plowing
through mud to get to the river and water splashed out of the centerboard cable
sheave on the top of the cabin...In 40 years of sailing I have never seen that
before!

Thank you Richard! That is helpful. It looks similar although my centerboard
is lifted with a cable not a cylinder. Anyway hopefully it is just a through
pin as shown in your diagram.Nathan

Nathan; I have attached the specs for the center board on my 37; I can't
imagine that it would be dramatically different than your 34; (of course I
would defer to the engineers on this list); Good luck!

 Hello all,
As I start thinking about planning for winter maintenance I think it might
finally be time to overhaul and fair the center board on Wisper. She is a C&C
34 with a center board which unlike some of the larger models is rectangular in
shape. I am wondering what the process is for removing the board. Have any of
you removed the board on a 34 before? I am assuming there is some sort of pin
through the keel - perhaps with filler in the end. Nothing is visible on the
slides fo the keel to locate where this is. Do any of you have measurements?
Does it go through both sides of the keel?
I suppose I'll just have to start sanding in the region to see if I can find it
or the filler that is presumably used to make the keel smooth afterwards. Is
the pin just a friction fit (so I can pound it out) or is it attached in some
way?
Thanks!
Nathan
