It’s an odd fact that 100% antifreeze will actually freeze at a much higher temperature than a mixture.
So never use 100% antifreeze, use a mixture. I never knew the pink stuff would freeze (but not expand). I’ve used it for a decade to winterize my boat and travel trailer, and never had a problem. My boat is out of the water Oct. 31 through April 1 every year in subzero temperatures every winter. One time I blew out the lines in my travel trailer, instead of sucking the pink stuff through them. There were some nylon plumbing parts deep inside the toilet valve and kitchen sink faucet that froze and cracked. Moral: sucking pink stuff through is more reliable than blowing water out.
