Mike,
you are not saying a lot about your client (w98) config.
If you go trough all the steps as in the manual it will work!
My guesses are that I would look at the following:
- Is the Workgroup in both machines the same?
- did you configure the name of the W98 client also in the Qube (user setup)
- can you see other clients from your W98? if not check the client settings
on your W98
